Eden Herbs is a Stockport-based acupuncture clinic that has been providing traditional Chinese Medicine, deep tissue massage, and hot cupping treatments for over 20 years to clients throughout Greater Manchester and Chesire.

We are members of the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ATCM) and the British Acupuncture Council.

Dr Eve Shen

Dr Eve Shen is an Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor, having graduated from Shanghai Medical University (SMU) with an honours degree after six years of study.

She was employed by Shanghai Xin Jua hospital for many years and came to the UK in 1993 to work as a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioner ever since. She is currently a member of the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ATCM).

Her focus is on providing her patients with thorough, individualised, and comprehensive care, treating a variety of specific conditions and symptoms. In addition, Traditional Chinese Medicine has a strong focus on prevention and is beneficial in the maintenance of good health despite the many demands and challenges of a busy lifestyle. More than just treating diseases, Dr Eve promotes preventative health, wellness and patient empowerment. She is very committed to helping people feel their best and really enjoys her work.

Specialities: Dr Eve has worked with women of all ages to help regulate their menstrual cycle, relieve symptoms of PMS, and balance moods, digestion and emotions. Fertility and assisting patients to get pregnant is a massive passion for Dr Eve, whether it is supported during the IVF process, after pregnancy care or natural induction.

She has also successfully treated a number of men and women for a variety of issues such as pain management, anxiety, depression, stress reduction, digestive conditions, allergies, adverse reactions to radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy, insomnia, hypertension and many other internal and external pathologies.

MBAcC Irene Jia

Irene Jia is a licensed acupuncturist and a specialist in the treatment of pain and injury. She uses acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and Tui-Na to safely and effectively get her patients out of pain and back to health.

Irene is a member of the British Acupuncture Council and has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Westminster. Irene has interned at China Medical University in Taiwan and studied Chinese medicine extensively.

Irene has a special interest in using acupuncture as a first-line treatment to prevent surgery, or if surgery is necessary, to reduce pain and speed recovery post-operatively.

Specialities: Acupuncture, Electro-Acupuncture, Motor Point Acupuncture, Scalp Acupuncture, Cupping, Gua Sha, Tui Na.

Polite and Sensitive Notice for Patients

At Eden Herbs we all pride ourselves with providing the best patient care possible. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) differs from Western Medicine and works with the meridian points all over the body when undertaking massage and acupuncture. This may require the slight lowering and moving of undergarments to reach these points. We would never ask you to remove all your undergarments and we would never do anything that causes you to feel uncomfortable.

The staff comprise of both male and female practitioners. If you wish to be treated by a female only or a male only practitioner, please let us know and we will try out best to accommodate. Please advise us if there is anything you feel unsure about. We are most happy to answer any questions you may have.

I visit Dr Eve and the team at Eden herbs on a regular basis now as it has worked wonders for my health. I have a very physical job and was starting to feel tired, worn out and ageing faster than usual. The treatments of massage, acupuncture and herbal remedies have balanced me physically, mentally and emotionally to the point where I’m no longer tired or feeling down. To help counter the effects of lipoedema, I consulted with Dr. Eve. The positive attitude of Dr.Eve, Irene and team; and treatment (motion acupuncture,cupping along with dietary tips) have resulted in cm loss. (3.5cm, thigh, and nearly 5cm waist, so far) Thanks....

I Would like to thank Dr Eve and the whole team for their superb treatments and advice.
I had sciatica and was sorted after few weekly treatments . I
I also suffer with a chronic back shoulder and neck pain for many months which is now so much better following the MOTION acupuncture ( by Dr Eve) and massage sessions ( by David) . Dr Eve and her team at Eden Herbs are truly miracle workers. I went to Dr Eve to try and cope with my ME symptoms that were so debilitating that I was unable to work or socialise. I came across Eve and her team last year when looking at balancing my hormones and hoping to try to conceive after many many years on contraception. After a few failed months of doing so before coming to Eve I was ready to try everything. Eve explained to me how the body works and why my hormones were off and what I could do to get them balanced again. I did four weeks of Chinese herbal tea, acupuncture and reflexology and not only did I balance my hormones but successfully managed to conceive naturally. We have recently welcomed our beautiful baby boy into the world and I honestly feel this wouldn’t have been possible without Eden herbs advice and treatment. I am forever grateful for everything they did for me and my new little family. I recommend Eden herbs to everyone as they offer such a wide variety of treatments, I was still keeping up the reflexology when heavily pregnant! It is a very calming environment and you always leave feeling that bit lighter. Thank you so much for all your help and changing my mindset on how to tune into my body!

I have been visiting Dr Eve for several months now and feel so much better. I am constantly amazed at how she can tell whether I'm tired or low on energy simply by checking my pulse and tongue.

My migraine headaches have disappeared, and my energy levels are much improved. At my last session, Dr Eve untrapped my neck which had been causing me severe discomfort.

Dr.Eve is absolutely fabulous! She puts all her soul and energy into treating her patients and this is evident from the way in which she listens, responds and carries out all her treatments.

My elderly aunty started going to her in 2018 and she feels better after every massage. It is as though Dr.Eve can 'see' the pain and targets those areas specifically. Unfortunately due to Covid she was unable to leave the house and she went back to Dr.Eve after about two years. The most amazing thing (apart from the massage itself!) was the fact that Eden Herbs still had our record on file and as we had paid in advance for the massages we were told that we still had one left! We truly appreciated their honesty as we had misplaced the card.

Dr.Eve is incredibly caring and thoughtful and she treats all her patients with respect and kindness. Irene and David are equally polite and respectful (e.g. helping my aunty up from her chair when she has been unable to stand up with ease or getting her a footstool to access the massage bed.)

We have been very lucky to find their clinic! On the days when my aunty is unwell and unable to attend her appointments, she really misses them and looks forward to her next session. Dr.Eve is always understanding and accommodating - always rearranging with a lot of empathy and kindness, even at short notice!

My colleague recommend I come to Eden herbs for a consultation for varies different reasons so I visited the clinic and met Dr Eve who immediately understood me and made me feel seen for the first time in years. Dr Eve has a heart of gold that shines through into her work and passion!! I had my first acupuncture session yesterday and already feel a million dollars. Highly recommend to anyone who needs holistic support with any of their needs! Can’t wait for my next session 🙂

I have been with Eden Herbs for many years now and always had success with their natural and herbal treatments. Doctor Eve, Irene and David are excellent. Doctor Eve has helped me with various injuries and ailments, from problematic skin related to my hormones to muscle injuries. I have a current shoulder injury and have been seeing Dr Eve for 3 months , I have made a huge improvement and am nearly at the end of my treatment. Meanwhile, I am still waiting to hear from my current NHS.
